April 30, 2010, Newsletter Issue #1: Fashion Do's for a Job Interview

Tip of the Week

When it is time to go out for the all-important first impression to land your dream job, you may be wondering what to wear. Though fashion has changed over the years, the general guidelines for professional attire have remained constant.

Keep your look professional, even when the interviewer says it's casual. Wait until you get the job to totally relax. For women, a skirt or pantsuit is preferred to a dress. Instead of a shirt and slacks, again, go for the polished look and grab a matching blazer or suit jacket.

Keep jewelry to a minimum i.e., a watch and a wedding ring (if applicable) and perhaps a small bangle. Avoid several at once (at least for now).
